A couple of years ago my husband went to the hospital with pneumonia at the same time I suffered from bronchitis. I felt awful right alongside him.
About half of my internet friends have told me they are sick or have sick family members. Or… other difficulties are occurring like impending operations or love ones with Alzheimer’s.
Sometimes life seems daunting yet time marches on. And If I weren’t a Christian, I’d be petrified to face the future. I’d be tempted to crawl in bed and hibernate.
But, I know Who holds my future in the palm of His hand. Jeremiah 29:14 says: “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Those aren’t just casual words, but there is truth in every syllable.
“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs, the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.” Psalm 84: 5-7. Though my own strength is feeble and problems loom, I’m blessed because I receive my strength from the Lord. And He’s the one who created the universe by His mighty power. Even in hard times, my life can be like a place of refreshing springs though the circumstances may look bleak.
I have the strength of the Lord available to me month to month. God’s favor rests on me and blesses the work of my hands. Psalm 90: 17. He forgives my sins, heals, my diseases, crowns me with love and compassion, and renews my strength. Psalm 103: 3-5.
“The Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trust in Him.” Psalm 32:10
I need never fear the future. Praise the Lord.
So true! He is with us – every day in every situation! His love never fails, even when bodies and doctors and medicines do.
I’m glad we know the Great Physician who never fails us. Thanks for commenting.
We are forever blessed knowing He loves us and we are His.
