God Leads Us

God’s Saving Hand reaching for the faithful

When we were in our home in Washington State, we generally made plans in

advance:  next summer we’re going to Colorado or next weekend we’re having the Smiths for dinner. Like most people.

But when we lived in an RV, life could be spontaneous. Sometimes a little too much spur-of-the-moment for me.

Yet living life in the moment can be exciting. It surely fits with my husband’s personality type. And it calls for seeking God’s will daily. His will for next year or next month, but also for the next day and the next moment.

When my husband graduated from RV Tech School, we considered moving to a community north of where we were. But in one day, circumstances changed, and we were delayed—permanently. And it was for the best. Well, what did we expect? We’d been praying each morning beseeching the Lord to lead us.

He leadeth me, he leadeth  me,

By his own hand he leadeth me;

His faithful follower I would be,

For by his hand he leadeth me.

This wasn’t the first time we’d experienced the Lord’s leading. One time back in ’97 the Lord used this scripture to guide us when we left the deserts of El Paso to live in the Pacific Northwest.

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thorn bush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. Isaiah 55: 12-13A.

I have no doubt God is leading each of us if we’ll have ears to hear and eyes to see.
