Fire!

Yep, we encountered some when the RV parks in the area had to evacuate. We didn’t have to – only breathed smoke for two days.

Where, you ask? Forest fires are common in the summer in the mountains of Colorado. From what I understand, it’s nature’s way of replenishing the forests. But it’s hard on the residents who live in the area. Many homes are in danger.

These pictures were taken at the Bighorn RV Park. It’s a gorgeous location right on the Arkansas River. The fire only kept my husband off the stream for a few days.

 

 

Though fire can cause much damage, the smoke painted the skies in unusual ways.
