Seeing God in Our Hearts

I know I can seek God in prayer and even see Him in the magnificent world He’s created. I don’t see Him with physical eyes but spiritual ones. John 4: 24 says, “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Thought I can’t see Him with my own eyes, I sense the precious whispers of the Holy Spirit. Elijah experience this in 1Kings 19:12. “After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.”

Be assured. God is there. “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” Psalms 145:18.

Though I long to see Him with my own eyes, I take hope in this. “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.” I feel like shouting hallelujah when I read that. Someday we will live with him for all eternity.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8

Dear Lord, thank you for the assurance that You live in my heart. I can see You in nature, in my Christian sister’s countenance, and in Your word. Amen.
