Tell us about the story. What prompted you to write this story and where did you get your ideas for the plot?

The idea for Callum’s Compass came originally from a local myth here involving whether or not “black panthers” live in the remote mountains. The idea changed and grew over time and with a lot of prayer. It now involves a treasure hunt, which is something near and dear to my heart. My uncle, Jim, left treasure hunts for his kids growing up and included my brother and I on a couple of them at family vacations. They are some of the best memories I have!

Once those two items were tied together, the plot flowed from there. When Kat receives the first clue and decides to find out if it is real or not, she takes a step into a world of danger and mystery. And, once I set her on that path, we couldn’t stop before we saw what waited at the end of the tunnel! Add a handsome wildlife officer, Ryan, into the mix, and I had a story I couldn’t wait to tell.
