What We Can Learn About God

“The Son is …the exact representation of God’s being.” Hebrews1:3.

I read this in one of my favorite Bible apps, Our Daily Bread in an article by Jennifer Benson Schuldt. So to know the Son was to know God. Hmm. I could learn a lot here.

I asked the Lord to bring to mind stories about Jesus that would help reveal God’s attributes. They first was ? “Let the little children come unto me.” God is accepting, loving, and cares about the “least of these.” In other words, I don’t have to be the president of the United States to get God’s attention. Plus he loves me and with open arms invites me to come to Him.

Next the story of the money changers ?came to mind. When merchants misused God’s house, Jesus became angry. With authority he turned the tables upside down and rebuked those who’d invaded the temple with selfish reasons of their own. To line their own pockets with at the expense of worshipers. So God is authoritative and upholds His rules, statutes, policies, declarations?

What about when Jesus was tempted in the desert? ?? How did he respond to Satan? With scripture. He upheld the Word, confirming ?? that the Word is powerful and sharper than a two edged sword.

I could name so many examples of the things Jesus did, but the most dynamic was His death on the cross. He proved His great love for us needy and helpless humans, sparing us from a life separated from Him. Love is the key word, and I can’t think of any another that says it better.

If we want to know God, we have to look no further than His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.

And more last thing. I think about where Jesus is today. He’s seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. I’ll be there, too, one day, thanks to Him.
