Why Should I Pray

Why Should I Pray?

Keep on praying and don’t give up. Colossians 4: 2 says “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” 1 Thessalonians 5: 17 reminds us to “pray without ceasing.” Ephesians 6: 18 says “And pray in the Spirit on a

ll occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”

Prayer is my natural reaction to a difficult situation. Recently I had two concerns in my family. One—a serious illness and the other, an employment need. I pounded on God’s door, pleading for days.

I praise God the ill person is out of the hospital and regaining strength daily. The other person got one of the jobs she interviewed for.

I’m not saying God always answers quickly. But my point is, God heard my pleas and had mercy on me and the people I prayed for in His own timing.

“We put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.” 1 Timothy 4:9.

Dear Lord, help me to pray in faith then wait for Your perfect timing for the answers. Amen.

  • Amen. Praying is crucial. God’s timing isn’t always my timing, but He knows best. 🙂 Have a wonderful and blessed day!

  • Love this post . Prayer does help even if the answer isn’t what we want or when we want it.
I once prayed that I’d find the keys I lost/misplaced during a snow storm. As it turns out, God made me wait until most of the snow was gone and low and behold beneath the mounds of snow there were my keys. I think he was teaching me that prayer works for small things too and patience all at the same time.
The snow story is a true story.
